Project Engineer
Engineering & Construction
This position reports to the Engineering & Construction Department Manager. The Project Engineer’s primary responsibility is to work with the Corporate Operating Units in developing and executing facility designs and installations. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Engineer will be responsible for:
- Working with Operating Units and other engineering disciplines in developing and scoping facility projects.
- Develop detailed DBM, detailed designs and construction packages for various projects including well tie in, compressor installations and small gas plants.
- Lead or participate in HAZOP or “What-if” reviews
- Identify material requirements for projects.
- Develop detailed cost estimates for projects.
- Develop bid documents for various aspects of the construction phase.
- Responsible to manage costs on projects.
- Participate in corporate specification development and maintenance.
- Provide operations support through the Management of Change process.
Qualities, Skills & Attributes:
- Professional Engineer with at least 10 years of oil and gas facilities experience.
- Degree in Engineering in Mechanical, Civil, Petroleum or Chemical Engineering.
- Engineering design experience.
- Project management experience.
- Process engineering experience is an asset.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel to field location in Western Canada and Northern US for up to 5% of time.
- Ability to work with multi-discipline group.
- Strong computer skills including MS Word® and MS Excel®.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
