About this Opportunity

The People Operations Analyst will be a key member of Paramount’s People Operations Team. Based in the Calgary Office and reporting to the People Operations Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for providing recruitment support to the People Operations Team and HR Generalist support for our Field Operations in Western Canada.  

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Providing full-cycle recruitment support including developing and managing the recruitment strategy, designing job descriptions and postings, scheduling interviews, preparing interview guides and providing input into the selection decision
  • Facilitating the onboarding of all new hires and ensuring that electronic personnel files are complete and up to date
  • Leading Paramount’s Campus Recruitment efforts
  • Providing Managers/Foremen with performance management support and capability development activities/procedures
  • Providing value-added advice and counsel to managers, supervisors and employees on key human resource matters, issues and opportunities
  • Providing efficient and timely resolution to employee concerns, issues, and inquiries; while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction, in conjunction with corporate policies
  • Interpreting, updating and applying as well as occasionally developing HR related policies and guidelines
  • Assisting in the effective application of compensation and benefit programs
  • Supporting succession and workforce planning initiatives within the business
  • Identifying and problem-solving on work environment improvement initiatives
  • Working closely with the payroll and benefits team resolve employee issues
  • Taking the lead on or assisting with other HR related projects and tasks as assigned

Qualifications: 

  • Undergraduate degree in business or a related discipline
  • CPHR designation or working towards one would be considered an asset
  • One to three years of demonstrated HR recruitment or generalist experience, oil and gas experience would be considered an asset
  • Ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills matched with the ability to negotiate and build relationships with key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated superior organization skills and attention to detail
  • A focus on continuous improvement and being committed to learning new HR practices
  • Excellent customer service focus
  • Knowledge of key people processes to leverage and add value to the business’ goals
  • Experience in most aspects of HR with a strong understanding of applicable legislation
  • Advanced computer skills with MS Office
  • Previous experience with the HR functions of ADP Workforce Now would be considered an asset
  • Ability to work effectively independently
  • Possess a willingness to take on additional matters as the opportunity or situation arises

CONTRACT OPERATOR (CASUAL PART-TIME) - CENTRAL

About this Opportunity

Reporting to the Production Foreman, this position will place a priority on health, safety and environment. The chosen candidate will have a full working knowledge of production facilities, work independently and be capable of operating gas compressors, plants, oil battery facilities and associated wells. The candidate will reside in the Rocky Mountain House/Eckville/Leslieville area. This is a 6-month casual part-time role.

Responsibilities:

  • Environment, Health & Safety must be a priority
  • Support and initiate safe work practices, following all Paramount policies and procedures
  • Conduct routine monitoring and maintenance of producing wells, test facilities, and plant facilities
  • Participate and follow compliance initiatives including O & M manuals, MOC, pipelines, vessels, tanks and PSVs
  • Ensure operations are carried out in a cost-effective manner
  • Conduct monthly LOE and production tracking
  • Identifying deficiencies and recommending corrections to existing procedures to ensure the assigned field meets performance standards
  • Contribute to the team achievement of meeting business, environmental, health and safety targets
  • Maintenance and monitoring of facilities in general
  • Provide coverage during peak season, turnarounds, and vacation

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 4th Class Power Engineering and/or completed GPO/PFO would be an asset
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ operating experience
  • Valid H2S and First Aid certifications along with a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision, time management and organizational effectiveness are critical to this position
  • Positive attitude and a sense of teamwork
  • Able to identify opportunities to improve operations production, activities, processes and procedures
  • A disciplined work ethic, self-motivated, positive attitude and strong desire to contribute is essential
  • Good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs. Must be able to learn, adhere and work with all Paramount based software programs
  • Will be required to be on call and work overtime when required
